THE SCHWEIGERT COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT IS HERE TO RECOGNIZE AND CELEBRATE THE LOCAL LEADERS, VOLUNTEERS AND ORGANIZATIONS THAT TRULY MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

MEET A PERSON BEHIND THE MARKETING.

Meet Lorraine and get an inside look at a local marketing manager who loves her job, her family and, of course, living in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

We asked her a few questions about work, life and community. Read on for her answers and get to know one of the many amazing people who help us bring you the local Schweigert™ meats your family loves.

Schweigert: What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

Lorraine: I’m a 5th degree black belt in taekwondo and teach as well as referee in tournaments. I also just completed 24 years of decorating for our local Catholic church, creating environments that visually portray the different seasons.

Schweigert: What achievement in life are you most proud of?

Lorraine: I am most proud of achieving in life what my parents stressed most when I was growing up: education, a spouse with the values that you share and giving back to the community.

Schweigert: What has been your greatest inspiration in life?

Lorraine: Being a mother has motivated me to be as good an example to my children as possible. That has enriched my life greatly and pushed me to do things I never thought that I could do. And now my children are my inspiration.

What’s your favorite thing about living in Mound, MN?

Lorraine: I enjoy living on one of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes.

What’s your favorite Schweigert™ product?

Lorraine: Twins Dugout Dog – natural casing. It reminds me of the natural casing hot dogs my mother bought from the local butcher shop when I was growing up.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Lorraine: I would seek experiences that show different cultures, as it puts the world into perspective. I also want to see natural resources, as some are being threatened environmentally. My next aspiration is to go on an African safari and enjoy the wildlife and nature there.

What does the word community mean to you?

Lorraine: Community, to me, means all the ways you interact with your local surroundings. It also means a responsibility to contribute to making it the best place to live, and especially in giving back from the richness of your life.

If there’s someone you’d like to nominate for a future Community Spotlight, send us an email and tell us a little bit about them.
